Privacy Policy

Summary

Handover collects no data. Everything stays on your device. No account, no server, no cloud, no tracking.

You choose what to hand over to the next shift. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you share it with a colleague.

What data is collected?

None. Handover does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to Dr. Khalid Shamiyah or any third party.

All information you enter—your name, role, ward names, bed numbers, job descriptions, and bed notes—is stored exclusively on your device in local storage (localStorage).

What happens when I hand over?

When you hand over, you choose which jobs to share. The app generates a QR code or link that contains:

• Ward and bed identifiers
• Task descriptions
• Priority (routine or urgent)
• Ward bed layouts (if configured)

This information is not encrypted. It is encoded in base64 and embedded in the QR code or link.

Bed notes, reminders, done state, and your profile are never included in the handover. They stay private on your device.

Is there a server or backend?

No. Handover is a client-side Progressive Web App (PWA). There is no backend server operated by the developer. The app works fully offline.

What about analytics or tracking?

None. Handover does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Sentry, or any other analytics or tracking service. No telemetry is collected.

Safe use guidance

Handover is a task list for healthcare professionals, not a patient record system.

• Use non-identifying clinical shorthand only. Do not include patient names, dates of birth, or hospital numbers.
• Handover QR codes and links are not encrypted. Prefer showing the QR in person rather than sharing the link via messaging apps.
• Handover supports, and does not replace, verbal handover and clinical responsibility.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. The app will remain data-collection-free.
